After 2 months of failed delivery, angry riders gathered, at Huduma Credit offices, on October 9, to demand their bikes or a full refund. According to NTV, they’re accusing the company, and prominent business man Jama Rohisafi of defrauding over 24 million.

Reports show that each complainant contributed Ksh9,500 cash deposits for new Spiro e-bikes, which they’re are yet to get despite the long wait. The angry riders attested Huduma Credit’s unprofessionalism while waiting, where the company also gave questionable excuses.

“I paid KSh 9,500 last month and was supposed to receive the motorbike within 24 hours. Since then, I have been taken round in circles. Huduma Credit is a crime scene. Where is our money and the motorbikes?” Kevin Ong’wando, one of the clients, lamented.

Another rider, Abdirizak Hassan, stated that the receptionists at the company looked down on them when inquiring about the motorbikes’ progress. Even worse, the clients highlighted that Huduma Credit had initially called police to chase them away while protesting.

Jamal, Huduma Credit’s CEO, said the delays are due to a heavy backlog, but they’re expecting to clear it soon. “We have a heavy backlog of around 2,136 in Nairobi and need to clear it by Friday. We have increased manpower in the manufacturing process to accelerate the delivery.” Additionally, he highlighted that the company is ready to refund those who no longer want the electric bikes.
