Djibouti and France Partner for International Doctoral Alliance on Climate Adaptation and Mitigation

Djibouti and France have formed an international doctoral alliance dedicated to climate adaptation to tackle the urgent challenges posed by climate change. The collaboration involves the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Centre for Study and Research of Djibouti (CERD), and the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD).

The collaboration will focus on conducting vital research on East Africa’s tropical ecosystems, which are highly susceptible to climate change and human activities.

Additionally, it aims to establish a regional hub for research and innovation education on climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience. Also, it seeks to deepen the understanding of how to protect these delicate ecosystems and develop strategies to enhance their resilience to climate change impacts.

The Franco-Djiboutian collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to ecological preservation and sustainable development. This partnership goes beyond research, striving to provide practical solutions. It holds the promise of significant advancements in climate science and effective strategies for the region, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
