Importantly, COP29 will focus on key issues such as the New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG), Article 6 on carbon markets, and the loss and damage fund. African negotiators will push for progress and consensus on these fronts.
Lastly; ahead of the COP29 Summit in Azerbaijan, African institutions converged to align Africa’s climate action priorities. Main entities involved will be the African Development Bank (AFDB), the African Union Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance.
