Shortlist Launches Africa Climate Careers Network (ACNN) to Bridge Employment Gap

Shortlist, on 18th October, announced its launch of ACNN, aimed to help startups, social ventures, and mission-driven organizations in the climate sector.

The Nairobi-based project will involve 1,000 job opportunities from 100 different companies. These openings are open for all African nations and are an opportunity for the Youth to share their ideas for saving the environment. This is so as ACNN aims to attain a green economy in Africa.

It is a unique project involving the Youth, women, and persons with disabilities to offer them apprenticeship and career growth. They’ll be offered partnerships if effectively invested in the high-tech climate sector, clean energy, and tech in general.

Shortlist to provide the ever-growing African climate market with trained talent. It is a broad and helpful move for the climate and environment sector, which has proved to lack the necessary talent to adapt to the growing tech and rapid climate change in Africa.

Shortlist joins other entities like the YES (Youth Energy Summit), constantly organizing, training, partnerships, and job opportunities for African Youth. Like Shortlist, YES works with a vast pool of partners like Bowmans, Huawei, SIEMENS Energy, Schneider Electric, and Standard Bank.

For instance, YES is organizing a Youth Energy Day (virtual) on 10th November. The event will stream from Nairobi, Cape Town, Lagos, and Cairo through the Beyond Privilege digital platform.

The Youth will grow in the climate sector through projects/entities like Shortlist and YES. They’ll get the necessary training and effectively manage to impact green growth and net zero emission in Africa. Join today to be part of the change.
